My wife is currently looking for a job and I’m sure she would love this laptop. I think one of the best features is it’s size (or lack thereof!). The ability to tote this thing everywhere would really benefit her so she could job shop from anywhere.
Wow! What a great laptop! I am always on the go, so I think the size of the HP dm3’s laptop would be most helpful to me! With it being only 1 inch think, I could tote it everywhere with me, allowing me to always be on the job hunt and sending out resumes where ever I am- one step closer to getting my dream job.
The Windows 7 Power Management would also be a really helpful feature. I don’t have time to charge my laptop’s battery as often as I should, so having a power- saving component built in is huge! I’m a graphic designer, so when I get ‘into the zone’ of creativity, I won’t have to worry about my battery dying often.
It would be awesome having a laptop that was actually portable instead of having to always be plugged into an outlet because my old laptop refuses to hold a charge! Having a laptop that is portable would allow me to constantly be able to look for a new job no matter where I was.
The weight. Something portable and lighter than a desktop so I can work where ever my daughter happens to be at the moment!
Thanks for the contest.
My laptop at home is pretty bulky and mobility isn’t always easy. I’m planning several projects as part of my new year goals and I would feel super motivated with a brand new laptop, where working from anywhere is not an issue due to the HP Probook’s special features!
Although the weight and sizing seems to be the initial go-to feature for wanting such a laptop, I personally love the 10 hour battery life. My current laptop constantly has to be plugged in and charging or else it will suddenly shut down after less than 30 minutes – so inconvenient!
As always, HP seems to be one step ahead of everyone else when it comes to technology!
While a power management system and updated Windows 7 processor are noble and commendable, I want, nay NEED, this computer for one reason… sex appeal.
The next time I’m at a large chain coffee shop working on my “novel” (its a work in progress), I need a computer that is so slim onlookers do a double-take to make sure I am actually am typing on a computer.
1″??? Brushed aluminum-magnesium alloy case??? These scream “class”, “edgy”, and “daaaaaaaamn look at that cool guy”.
If I am awarded this laptop then HP can rest assure they will have a walking, talking, breakdancing billboard for life.
I think battery longevity would help me out the most. My current lap top dies after 30 minutes if it isn’t plugged in. It’s over 5 years old!
The feature which strikes me as the most interesting is the Homegroup which bundles all of your media together. Generally I like to have pictures, videos, and music together in an area which allows me to move back and forth between the two, and this is a separate folder I have to create myself. It would be great to have a “go-to” place for my media files instead of using the search function to locate what I need.
The faster the information can be at my fingertips, the better.
Also, with my pick up and go lifestyle, a battery which lasts longer than 45 minutes would be awesome! It seems to be the second I sit down to type an email out, or pay some bills online while sitting on my couch, my battery is near empty. What’s the point of having a laptop that always needs to be charging!?
I would hope this laptop could solve these minor, yet aggravating problems.
All of these features would help me out because I could finally stop hearing my boyfriend complain about his old laptop!
My daughters computer is on it’s last leg. This would be a wonderful present for her.
definitely the size and portability stands out for me; as well as the 10 hour battery life.
As a Mom to a 3 year old, a full time employee and now a full time college student (starting Jan 4), having something so easy to carry around to use for studying (or blogging) during those rare free moments is irreplaceable.
This would be so great to win! I need a new laptop because my other is on it’s death bed literally. It doesn’t even go on the internet or keep a charge anymore (power cable plug in is broken)
I am currently unemployed and have been working on getting a new job and the possibilities of starting an internet business! This would be the exact tool I need to make that happen!
Thx so much

Oh & above comment amended- the best feature would be the Windows 7 feature! I also love the fact that it has a 10 hour battery life and the fact that it’s Energy Star!

The thin size makes it so convenient to carry with you! Thanks for the contest!
Having a laptop AT ALL would be great, so I could job hunt in places other than my dismal apartment!
The size and weight is key to this laptop ( 1″ thin and weighing 4.2 lbs) — love the fact that you can fit into your handbag!
My husband is a general contractor. The market is slow and I think that it’s small size would allow him more flexibility with being able to get the things he needs to do with a computer done. I think this would enable him to work more efficiently and get bigger jobs.
That long battery life and the ease of managing windows in Windows 7 would make looking for my dream job less of a job.
Being able to take the laptop anywhere, plus its long battery life, makes it so much less of a hassle if I were to go to a coffee shop for a couple of hours to do some work but couldn’t find a plug!
Well, given that I LOVE music, that PlayTo feature seems pretty amazing to me. The kids I serve love music too, so I could myself using it with them too!
Wow! This sounds really great, and currently my old laptop is pretty much dying. A new laptop would be really helpful because of the long battery life. Right now, it’s hard to study or job hunt anywhere because I have to find an outlet anywhere to work. But with this laptop I could head over to a coffeeshop and work without worrying that I’d lose my work in between! I definitely could use it since I’m a senior in college and am on the hunt for a job…
I don’t even have a labtop, so the ability to bring my work wherever I go would be amazing. I need to write my statement of purpose for grad school and I’m trying to set up an online business for craft sodas. These are both big steps towards my dream jobs.
Interesting question on how this computer would help me get my dream job..not sounding like a suck-up, but getting this computer would definitely be a dream come true!! I feel that the lap top’s log battery life makes job hunting not only easier, but makes it less tedious, as theres no need to shuffle with chargers, power chords. Absolutely no excuses now..
In order to get my dream job, the HP dm3′s feature allowing the user to connect an HD tv via the HDMI port would be great because in some interviews maybe there is a presentation to be done and the computer would be a great aid for it. Also, the thinness is a great plus for portability. Having this computer would be an awesome way to end 2009!
Since my dream job would be a Music Industry promoter (I love finding new bands and artists..would love to actually make money doing so!) the features that would help me most would be the SRS Premium Sound and Altec Lansing speakers to preview bands or to promote my finds to record companies.
Thanks for the giveaway…
The dm3 is small and light enough for me to work on the go, not being stuck in an office sounds great to me!
Battery life would help me out – thats the biggest problem I have with my laptop now. Its not very mobile if you have to keep it plugged in!
#1 Feature. Full performance computing for up to ten hours without plugging in! Low voltage processors and LED screen contributes to the extended battery life. Its impressive that this little computer can keep on chugging for a full day on campus and then some hours at the library.
My current computer takes 10 minutes to load and has no volume. Given that it serves a double-purpose as my stereo, I would say it’s now only 50% functional. I would LOVE a new HP. Thanks Mad Grads for such a cool opportunity
I would be able to blog, work on my personal website and brand image from anywhere! I would make great use of that laptop…taking it on all my travels, creating my dream career of working from all over the place!
The power management would help me get my dream job as a published novelist. My current craptop only stays juiced for an hour or two at best, so I have to write in short bursts. With better, longer lasting power, I can write longer and actually finish the darn thing.
The functionality of Windows 7 would help me the most. My current Windows Vista computer is prone to freezing up in the most inopportune times. With the improved Windows operating system, I would be able to complete the necessary tasks to land my dream job.
With the speed of a new computer, the ability to finish a Photoshop project quicker would land many additional job opportunities!
Hi! Love that these puppers can go anywhere and are light weight. Apple needs some competition!! Thanks!
I would have to say just being able to easily connect to the internet from the dm3 would be most useful for me in job hunting
Have to love the size – great to carry right into an interview!
It’s weight. As a mom, I find myself toting enough stuff around that having a nice light laptop would sure make things feel better! As an example, I take the kids to swim classes and who do you think is carrying the towels, suits, extra clothes, goggles and locks. Not THEM! Having the light laptop will make the whole process a little more relaxing because I know I’ll have some computer time to look forward to while they are swimming!
The thing that I would most like is the mobility. You can take it anyway and I could always be connected!
ihatesomuch (at) gmail (dot) com
The power management would allow me to get the battery to last longer so i can spend longer researching companies!
The size would allow me to take it anywhere!
It’s very light and easily mobile. That’s great being able to work remotely at the dream job.
Ooh what a lovely Giveaway!
The Homegroup feature (sharing music, pictures, videos) would definitely help out with starting my hobby/maybe new part-time career as a photographer. And the fact that it weighs less than 5 pounds is an added bonus!
I too would find the ‘homegroup’ feature much easier to use than the old XP method of networking! Thanks!
the up to 10 hours of battery life would help the most because carrying around the powercord is a major problem.
I can’t see where it would help in getting me a job, but winning it would make me one happy camper. I like its size and battery life
Being able to pull up a full-sized resume during an interview would give me the leg up on the other candidates!
The battery life is fantastic. It would assure you could get the information the reviewer is asking for without the embarrassment of a dead computer. Thanks for the contest!
Utilizing Windows 7 to get jobs done faster would help me prepare for my dream job.
If I had my choice, I would spend half the day trading stocks and the other half the day golfing. So this laptop would be light and mobile so I could ‘work’ while in the clubhouse!
Who was the winner of this contest?
Anyone get a message on winner??
